Qualification


The primary option for qualifying for the 2016 Wheel World Championships as a member of Team USA is to compete in the US Trials in Chicago in March.

TEAM USA for 2016 World Championships

Regulation to become a member of TEAM USA for the 12th Wheel Gymnastics World Championship June 21-26, 2016 in Cincinnati, KY/ USA

General Regulation Cyr and Gym Wheel

o   Athletes must compete at the US Trials competitions on March 11-13, 2016 in Chicago, IL.
o   Every athlete participating in events of the USA WGF has to be a member for the current year 1/1-12/31. Athlete $50, Judge $30, Coach $30/calendar year
o   US Trials is not a part of the March Wheel Weekend Event (3/11-13)
o   Participation in March Wheel Weekend workshop 3/11-13/2016 is not mandatory
o   US Trials competition fee is included in the March Wheel Weekend workshop participation fees
o   For those not participating in the March Wheel Weekend, there will only be a 30 minutes open warmup prior to the US Trials competition (space is first come, first served)
o   In case of injury or other circumstances, the jury panel of the USAWGF will decide how to proceed with the case. The aspects of ENGAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS and ATHLETE RESPONSIBILITY will also be evaluated in the final decision of the jury panel.
o   In case of same placements, the preference is going towards the athlete with more international competitive experience, greater participation in USAWGF events, and a regular history of successes at the national level.

Women, Men, and Junior Class Gymnastic Wheel

o   Athletes must compete at the US Open Trials 2016 in order to be eligible to be on TEAM USA. The top 3 All- round athletes are qualified. In a single discipline appearance the jury panel will decide which competitive display will most enhance the Team competition or the chances to perform in the discipline final.
o   In case of health problems or other circumstances (professional/education), the jury panel of the USAWGF and the head coach will decide how to proceed with the athlete. The aspects of ENGAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS and ATHLETE RESPONSIBILTY will also be evaluated in the final decision of the jury panel.

Cyr Wheel Class Women and Men

o   Athletes must compete at the US Trials in order to be eligible to be on TEAM USA, except as noted below.
o   Participation in the US Trials 2016 is mandatory as it is the competition trial for the World Championship. The top 4 placing athletes (compulsory and free program) will qualify for Team USA. Spot number 5 will be decided by the jury panel and the TEAM USA Head Cyr Wheel coach for the 12th World Championship.
o   In case of health problems or other circumstances (professional/educational), the jury panel of the USAWGF will decide how to proceed with the athlete. The aspects of ENGAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS and ATHLETE RESPONSIBILTY will also be evaluated in the final decision of the jury panel.

US Trials Competition Fees:

o   TEAM USA Registration fee per competitor for the 2016 US Trials (included in March Wheel Weekend Workshop Fees). Please note that US Trials only has 30 minutes of open warmup before the competition begins. Competition fee: $200
o USAWGF Membership Fee: $50

Team USA Participation Fees (due at US Trials for 2016 Worlds):

o TEAM USA Registration fee per competitor for the 12th WC Cincinnati ,KY / USA:  $335
o Team Outfit: TBD (expect ~$200) o Note: official world championship room and board packages will be posted online
