IN MEMORIAM RACHEL JOYCE WALLER

With great sadness, we are forced to announce the death of Rachel Joyce Waller, a strong and cherished part of the USA Wheel Gymnastics community.

Rachel was deeply dedicated to the sport of Wheel Gymnastics, in every possible way: on top of her busy job as a hospice nurse, she spent weeknights and Sunday afternoons in the gym, practicing the sport, growing her abilities, putting time and effort into Wheel. She represented Team USA at the Wheel Gymnastics World Championships in 2015 and 2016, and competed at multiple national-level events. Beyond that, she lead adult wheel classes, and volunteered her expertise at our Wheel Weekends and other events, as a first aid lead and educator.

Of course, beyond her dedication, Rachel was known as a close member of our Wheel Gymnastics community. She brought humor and strength to group trainings, she made friends from around the world at Wheel events, and she was always full of interesting conversation and lively stories.

Let us remember Rachel, of course, for her accomplishments, her skill as a nurse and wheeler, her dedication to our sport, but also for the love that she represents, and that we all feel for her.
